This is what we stay alive for

It’s been a particularly troubling time for musicians and entertainers these past few weeks. The jury is still out on whether or not singing can spread the virus faster, and there’s also a lot of misinformation going around too. This means, despite pubs and restaurants being open, there’s still no live music allowed. Not in pubs, not in theatres..even for weddings and church services it’s ‘not advised’.

I find this all to be so disappointing, as it was musicians who took to performing live streams to keep people entertained at home. It was musicians who sang from their windows in Italy. It was performers and entertainers of all kinds who created content for social media.

I know I have been busier than ever these past few months trying to keep music lessons going online, performing live streams and recording videos at home. So it’s disappointing that the performing community are now the last ones to be thought about, now restrictions are being lifted, despite there being really no reason for it.

Hopefully this will all change soon, and we can sing freely again! After all, there’s no life without music!
